NASACRE Development Plan
The Development Team of the Executive, ably led by Roy Galley, has been analysing and reviewing NASACRE’s work within our five aims, to ensure that we are best serving our SACRE members.
A workshop group at the NASACRE conference engaged with this document and provided feedback, which will inform the ongoing monitoring of the Development Plan.
Here is an overview of the plan. If you have any feedback or suggestions, do please let us know, as this helps our ongoing evaluation process.

A New Settlement: Religion and Belief in Schools
This policy pamphlet was launched at the House of Lords on 15th June. NASACRE has provided a briefing paper to support SACREs in discussing its implications.
RE Resources
SACREs frequently receive mailings from commercial providers which claim that their resources or products will help schools deliver the relevant locally agreed syllabus for example by mapping the syllabus to their specific product for primary schools. NASACRE offers this advice statement.

In February 2020 the DfE produced this handy FAQ sheet, giving advice about the statutory position of Collective Worship in schools.
Guidance on Managing the Right of Withdrawal from Religious Education produced on behalf of WASACRE by Gill Vaisey
This is a very useful document for SACREs and schools, especially in light of Recommendation 11 of the CoRE report.

Letter from Lord Nash to SACREs
Lord Nash, Minister responsible for faith schools has sent a letter to all SACRE Chairs, Clerks and Directors of Children’s Services. It emphasises the importance of good teaching of religious education and the central role of SACREs and the duty of local authorities.
