Stronger Together - Celebrating the power of Community

Date: Thursday May 24th 2018

Venue: Merchant Taylors’ Hall, City of London

Merchant Taylors’ Company is one of the Great Twelve Livery Companies of the City of London; and today operates mainly as an educational charity. The Guild has been located at this site since 1327, though the Great Fire of London and the Blitz destroyed and damaged a great deal of the site. We look forward to welcoming you to this historic building to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

Keynote Speaker

We are pleased to welcome Dr Vanessa Ogden as keynote speaker. Dr Ogden is the CEO of Mulberry Schools Trust, a Multi Academy Trust. She read Theology and Religious Studies at Manchester University, was an RE teacher, and is currently serving on the Commission on Religious Education. At the formation of the first APPG on Religious Education, Dr Ogden said on the subject, “It fundamentally hits the heart of what it means to be a human being and anything that allows young people to take that apart for themselves… is just so exciting; I don’t know how you can resist it really.”

Delegate cost:

£100 per delegate from NASACRE member SACREs
£130 per delegate from non-member SACREs and interested others

The closest underground station is Bank and the closest railway stations are Cannon Street, Fenchurch Street and Liverpool Street. NASACRE Executive Elections

At the AGM we will be holding elections for the posts of:

VICE CHAIR (to serve for two years) with automatic progression to Chair after 2 years

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: 3 vacancies (to serve for three years)

SACREs in paid-up membership are invited to use this form to nominate candidates for the above roles. These are active roles requiring a commitment of time and energy. Please note Officers and Executive members are primarily in role to support the work of NASACRE and SACREs, not to represent a specific SACRE or faith group.

The nomination should include:

  • A brief biographical note (maximum 75 words) including, where applicable, the SACRE group to which the nominee belongs (i.e. Group A: Other Denominations and Faiths; Group B: Church of England; Group C: Teachers’ Associations; Group D: the LA) or the role held on behalf of the SACRE.
  • A brief statement (maximum 100 words) about the ways in which the nominee will be able to contribute to and support the work of NASACRE.
  • A statement about each candidate’s ability to contribute to and support the work of NASACRE (all roles) must be completed by the SACRE Chair or Vice Chair and all nominations confirmed with a declaration from the Chair or Vice Chair of the nominating SACRE. If this is a problem because your council is ‘in purdah’ please contact NASACRE.

Please return the nomination form by Friday 18 May 2018 to: [email protected]
